Our family legend regarding our title AKHOURI not surname, includes stories that we are the descendants of a Mahasenapati, Akhouri is a title given by some ruler. We originally belonged to Kashmir and migrated to Gaya, Bihar at some point.
I am trying to confirm these stories, as well as build our Kursinama (Vanshavali) further. Akhouri Anirudh Prasad of Gaya has created a Vanshavali which goes back to almost 16th century.
